My memories were only for one school year, as I lived in Surrey (Green Timbers/Newton area) all my young years.

My family moved from Surrey in 1958 and I was fortunate to take Grade 13 at Lester Pearson High School

for the school year 1958/1959, and completed my first year university (academic subjects) at age 18.

Then I attended UBC for Teacher Training 1959/60, and with my Interim Teacher's Certificate, during the school year 1960/61,

taught 38 Grade 3s and 4s at Port Mann Elementary! Quite the experience for a 19 year old!

For several years, I taught school in the school terms, went to UBC in the summers, and finally earned my BEd degree in 1965.

My year at Lester Pearson High School set a solid foundation for senior academic studies, as the teachers were all excellent.

Especially the Math and English and Biology Teachers.
