I never took drama. I was in the band and pep band and sang in a Quartet called The Mountain Boys! I was asked to audition for The Boyfriend as a singer in the Quartet in the show and was chosen. Susan Jacks (aka Pesklevits) was female lead and John Blair was leading man for production. When John was floundering learning the role I was asked to compete against him for the lead. We both auditioned for the lead. I replaced him prior to opening. Delores Kirkwood Dance studios sent Read Anderson to choreograph the dancing and taught me. He went on to star in Stuttgart Ballet and later Royal Winnipeg Ballet. When Susan P. went to LA  to sing with The Poppy Family her understudy Rosemary Delorier took over lead female role. We performed at Massey Theatre the first musical in 41 years. She was Polly and I was Tony in play.

We portrayed the French equivalent of Romeo and Juliette on the French Riviera and fell in love.    The play era was roaring 20"s.   Mr. Rose was the music director along with Mr. Doug Price.  We had members from the Boston Pops playing in the orchestra as well.  Woodwards supplied the set and props and sound system.
